Robert Ivy gracefully delineates that architecture in its own unique ways influences public health. According to him, non communicable diseases like diabetes and heart diseases can be eradicated with remarkable involvement of architecture. If buildings and cities can be designed persuasively which provides public with surroundings comfortable and motivational enough to take a run or a walk ,then it shall positively affect health habits of the public. Adding a practical example to this thought he specially mentions the Central Park of New York City which was initially designed with a concept of providing the public with a general communicable space where people could have good social interaction according to thehill.com. But as it now turns out to be , it can be observed that this piece of architecture has been successful to highly influence the public health in its own distinct ways. The materials that the architects chooses for the project highly determines the outcome .

With this Robert Ivy further explains that the scope of architecture is no more confined to just design as it can be useful in aspects like provisioning disaster relief solutions too. The architecture sector which was more focused in lighting in the past decades has evolved into more sustained focus i.e. the productivity of people. Robert Ivy wants the young Architects to think beyond the field of architecture and be able to connect to peoples lives with their work.
