SpaceX has been getting a lot of press lately with their movement towards commercial space travel. There are many tests that are going on lately with SpaceX and it is exciting to see the new improvements in their technology. Their latest endeavor will be based upon the accuracy of their rockets. This is very important when it comes to space travel. Any small miscalculation in trajectory can greatly affect the outcome of a space mission.
Elon Musk, the head of SpaceX is also looking towards lowering the costs of sending rockets into space. Space rockets still operate the way that they did 50 years ago. There are different stages of boosters that fall off during the lift off of this rocket. CNN reports that SpaceX is trying to learn how to recover some of these rocket segments by landing them on a barge in the middle of the ocean. I agree with my colleague Igor Cornelsen who thinks this is something that is going to be very difficult to do, but it is also something that will make space travel more affordable.
